AVI is a non-profit organization focused on understanding the role of bias in our society. We approach our mission by grounding ourselves in the study of the unconscious stereotypes, preferences, and judgments that underpin our social and political behavior—what researchers term “implicit” or unconscious bias. Our projects leverage interdisciplinary methods to understand the role implicit bias plays in distorting policy and politics.
